I think it is fair to say that not having in body stabilization is a major disappointment for a new platform starting on a blank sheet of paper.

The flange focal distance determines whether a lens from one system can be mounted to a camera body of another system using an adaptor. 

Absolutely true – the camera and lens are just tools in someone’s hands. We can all pick up a pencil but we can’t all draw beautifully. But if a FF mirrorless has significantly better quality in the finished product and is comparable/cheaper in price to current DSLR FF cameras, of course people will be interested.

A large part of its growth would come from the capacity expansion. The company is doubling its capacity 53,000 tonnes to 100,000 by FY19 tonne and 150,000 tonnes by the end of FY20. Interestingly, the capex would be largely funded through internal accruals without putting pressure on the balance sheet. Last fiscal, the company generated close to Rs 96 crore cash from operations.

As for lenses, they’re probably terrific, and Canon claims they’re better than their EF-mount equivalents. Canon’s aggressively pursuing the fast-aperture segment, unlike Nikon and Sony did at launch. But there’s no affordable entry point to match this body, at least in the near term. Clearly they were designed with a subsequent higher-end model, or deeper-pocketed filmmaker, in mind.
